Danube Delta Ecosystem

Romanian prime-minister, Calin Popescu Tariceanu, announced he will forbid industrial fishing in the Danube Delta due to severe reduction in the quantity of fish during the last years. The sportive-fishing, the entertainment and the inhabitant’s fishing for themselves remain still allowed. He argued that if we don’t stop industrial fishing in the next three to five years we’ll have no fish anymore in the Danube Delta.

I really like the idea, hopefully it will really become reality. Reducing amount of fish in the Danube Delta affects not only the man's food resources, but mainly the life of the numerous species of birds, therefore having a secondary effect on the tourism (most of it based on birdwatching) and the whole Ddelta Delta ecosystem.
