Promoting Romania's History

Officials from the The Romanian Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism announced that , together with the European Commission, the Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism will promote two cultural routes in Romania. One in Transylvania, aiming to present the fortified citadels of south-eastern and central Transylvania , the other in Bucovina, presenting the painted monasteries of XVI-th century, part of UNESCO World Heritage.

While we definitely the initiative is welcome, this should have been done 20 years ago. Many Romanian tour-operators try to promote the cultural heritage, offering very interesting tours, but the roads infrastructure and a bad advertising or no advertising at all make thinks difficult for local operators. One such tour, featuring both Sighişoara and the UNESCO monasteries of Bucovina is the "Culture and Hiking in Romania"
