Cantacuzino Palace, Busteni

According to todays' newspapers, Cantacuzino castle, in Buşteni (in between Bucegi and Baiului Mountains) is again open for tourist visits. Built by Gheorghe Grigore Cantacuzino in 1911, the palace was renovated and will be the central point of a tourist complex.

This comes few years after the castle was given back by the state to descendants of Cantacuzino family. They sold the castle, together with a terrain of 1.000  hectares, to a group of investors, who is building there a 5* hotel, an aqua-parc and a ski slope.

The building was  erected by Gheorghe Grigore Cantacuzino (Romania's prime minister between 23.041899 - 19.07.1900 and 4.01.1906 - 24.031907.) when he was  79, two years before his death.

While the idea of a new accommodation place is not bad in itself, I think an aquaparc would not exactly fit the profile of a mountain resort, as Buşteni is.
